Macbook Pro Retina a1398 logic board issue
The mid 2012 and early 2013 MacBook Pro has a known issue with graphics card. The symptoms are black screen while fan and keyboard light will work and rebooting. This is a known issue with the above two models. This is due to a third party video card. This machine has two video cards. The gpu that create this trouble can be fixed by changing the logic board but because all logicboards have the same issue, the problem will return. Computer repair shops try to reflow the chip but this is the wrong way to deal with it because problem will not go away with reflow. Replacing or reflowing different components on logic board do not help. This is not well established gpu repair term like the 2011 macbook pro but it is a gpu trouble. The reason being, reflow or gpu replacement does not fix the issue. For this reason, it is a logic board problem rather than gpu trouble.
This is a fast and powerful machine compare to 2011 macbook pro which is valuable due to it’s own features. This Retina Macbook pro 15 inch has a lot of ram and has the fastest ssd hard drive. The Intel GPU has 1500mb ram which makes it more attractive for the post repair scenario. This means after eliminating the discrete gpu, the machine will still be powerful. We offer permanent fix for both mid 2012 15 inch macbook pro and early 2013 15” macbook pro. We offer one year warranty.
